Standing at the waters edge is the famous Nugget Point in the south island of New Zealand.
It has a commanding presence over an untamed ocean and magnificent rock formations. When I was mapping out our trip, I was thrilled to find that this would be in the area we would be visiting while there.
The views were really incredible and it was a lot of fun making the short hike along the trail from the parking lot to the lighthouse.
As we walked along the trail we could even hear sea lions bellow and spotted a few along the way.
The hike was easy and family friendly but we took extra precautions as there were no protective barriers at the edge.
Reaching the lighthouse felt like we had stepped into the last frontier at the edge of the world.
Our little coral color-coordinated crew spent a wonderful day exploring the lighthouse while taking in the views in such a breathtaking location.
